Here I am, blogging from the hospital.

For those of you who don't know, and for those who do, but are still interested:

Anika has been in the hospital since Thursday because her blood pressure was high and they wanted to monitor the baby.

At 8 this morning she was only dilated to a 1, but still contracting.

They've started her, but haven't broken her water yet. She's gotten her epidural and is currently sleeping. Her BP is stable, and all looks well with Breanna.

So Breanna will most likely make her grand entrance early tomorrow morning! We're excited to see her! Please remember Anika in your prayers tonight. :) For those of you who have had babies, you know she'll need them. For those, like myself, who haven't, someday she'll be praying for you too.

I'll post pictures of the baby after she's born. I'm really excited to see this little person, but definately not as excited as Anika is.

Something's Fishy...

TR and I decided to clean out the pond today since we've had a fish killing epidemic lately. We got most of the water out before we could catch the fish, including our two Koi, Stevie and Darby.

We scooped out Stevie, Darby, and 6 tribes (originally 12, as in the 12 tribes of Israel, but we'll get to that in a minute.)

Upon closer inspection, I noticed that some of our tribes had white spots, one had black spots, and some were a lot smaller than the goldfish I remember buying. So TR and I sat down and did the math.

We originally bought 12 feeder goldfish, known as the 12 tribes, with only one that wasn't solid gold named Benjamin, or Benji for short who was a solid gray color.

Benji and one other tribe were lost within three days of purchase. We were down to ten tribes.

Two more tribes didn't make it past two more weeks. Now we only had 8 tribes left.

Then the fish epidemic struck, and we lost four more tribes this week. That leaves us with only 4 tribes left, assuming we got all the tribes and none were carried off by birds or cannibalistic fish.

This of course, does not include Darby and Stevie, since it would be very obvious if they were dead, and of course, they weren't.

But if you look at the diagram, we have 6 tribes, besides Darby and Stevie from our pond, and tribe 3 is very VERY small. We like to think of him as a Mini tribe.

There is no denying it, Darby and Stevie are proud parents of at least two of the fish currently in our pond!

Does that make us fishy grandparents?

Happy Forth Of July!!

I've just started this new class for the block. It fills my political science requirement, and is actually really interesting. It's an American Heritage class. This last week we've been learning about the revolutionary war. It's really quite amazing what all those men and women did and suffered through so our country could have its independence from Britain. It really makes me grateful for the freedoms and liberties that we have and enjoy so fully. Our freedom was most definitely not free.

So to all those men and women who sacrificed their homes, food, clothing, and even their lives so we could be an independent nation, I salute you.

And to those men and women who still sacrifice their homes, food, clothing, families, and their lives so we can continue to be an independent nation, I salute you.

I hope that this Fourth of July we take just a minute to think about all that these normal, ordinary people have done so we can have all the things we enjoy, and maybe even have a moment of silence to thank them, pray for them, and commend them for their actions.

You can't spell American without I Can.
