Snow, Snow, Snow!

"It won't be long before we'll all be there with Snow!"

One of my all time Favorite movies is White Christmas. For those of you who haven't seen this movie, I HIGHLY suggest it, especially around Christmas time. I woke up this morning, much earlier than I wanted to, because I had a final. I reached up onto our windowsill to retrieve my glasses, and got a glance out the window and this is what I saw!

Snow, snow, snow!

It was falling almost as fast as TR was shoveling. We got a goodly amount.

And to top it all off, we made some great wassail.

TR was so sweet to go clear off the car for me this morning before my test. He's so good to me. I'm so excited for it to be snowing, even though I don't like the cold or driving in it. It feels like Christmas now! It's been so weird to me the past few weeks sitting in my house with no sweater, no blanket, no slippers or even socks, and listening to Christmas music with all the Christmas lights on. TR and I finally went to see the lights in Spanish Fork last night cause I wouldn't go before it had snowed. There's just something about seeing a skier or ice skater in lights where you can still see the grass that doesn't quite work for me.

My Little Buddy Is Growin' Up

This post is mostly for Jen. Since she can't come to my house to see my little bud and how much bigger he's gotten, I thought I would give you some perspective. These pictures are from my phone since I accidentally left my camera at Sarah's house, and haven't had time to go and get it (end of the semester).

The one on the right is his collar from when we very first got him almost a year ago!
These collars are on a regular sized sheet of paper so you can see them better.

It's so small! That big one can fit around TR's neck, and the small one only fits around his wrist.

I promise that when I get my camera back and my life isn't so crazy (Finals are next week! YAY!) I will be a bloggin' fool! Until then!

Pie Breakfast!

It's that season! The season to thank our Father in Heaven for all our many blessings. I absolutely love thanksgiving. It's one of my all time favorite holidays. I love the feeling of love and family. I love the opportunity to think of all the things I'm most thankful for in my life. And of course one those things is Pie!
One of our newest family traditions is Pie Breakfast. We've only done it since we've been married, but we're already in love with it. Here's the back ground. One of TR's employees at The Smokehouse introduced him to this idea. Matt's family is in Maryland, including his Grandmother. Matt's grandma loves pie and was often sad that after all the food and festivities of Thanksgiving, she was too full to eat the pie. So she came up with the brilliant idea to have the pie for breakfast, and whatever was left over could be had after dinner! Genius! Last year we got to share pie breakfast with Matt himself. This year we were fortunate enough to have Hanna, Eric, Brandon, Johnny, and Lindsy come over to our house for pie breakfast! It was so fun!


We had some great pie, some great laughs, and some great company. While I was growing up I remember watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade while helping mom roll up her world famous rolls (little ones, just for me), or making pink salad, or mixing this and that and the other. When the parade was over, and just as the house was beginning to fill the aroma of the cooking turkey, and we still had half the food to prepare, mom would pop in her favorite Christmas CDs and we would laugh, talk, sing, and just enjoy the feeling. When everything was almost done, the brothers and sisters would come. Timmy always made the mashed potatoes and mushroom salad, Sarah would take over my mixing job while I got to take a break and play with the kids, and made apple turkeys. I would find a helper or two to bring up the utensils and paper plates and cups to get ready for the big feast. Everyone would pick at the turkey to make sure it was done. The rolls that just came out of the oven were almost gone once they touched the bread basket. Everyone wanted a warm roll with warm butter, especially Glen, and he was willing to fight you for it The warmth wasn't just from the oven, or the heater, but it was in our hearts and our company. We had so much to be thankful for. Now that I'm grown up and don't live at home, I still have vivid memories and hope someday to pass some of those happy feelings and memories on to my children.

Every year, while digesting, the family would gather in front of the big screen and we'd watch the Muppet Christmas Carol. To this day- I cannot watch any other Christmas movie first or the season doesn't seem complete. To carry on this tradition, our little FHE group watched it while enjoying our pie.

I love the new traditions we have, but also cherish the old traditions that I remember growing up. I hope never to forget anything; the smells, the tastes, the sounds, the feeling, and the love that surrounds this holiday. In a time of hardship and sadness for a lot of the world and even a large part of the country in which I live, it's so wonderful to have an opportunity and a specific day set aside to remember everything we're blessed with, and more importantly, give thanks for those blessings.

23 Things I've Learned

So, the 13th was my 23rd Birthday, so I thought I would post 23 things I've learned this last year!

1. College Biology is not as easy as High School Biology. Go figure.
2. I have the greatest husband in the world.
3. I can get REALLY moody for weeks on end, and TR still loves me.
4. I really like getting mail.
5. Moving right after Christmas isn't the greatest time.
6. I have no artistic abilities. At all.
7. Doing something you love makes everything better.
8. Finding a job you love makes it so much easier to get up in the morning.
9. Not getting a job you love back gives you a crazy sense of determination.
10. I can live without carbonation
11. I don't like to live without carbonation.
12. Sometimes people say hurtful things, just to be hurtful.
13. Sometimes it's an accident.
14. I have some of the greatest friends in the world.
15. We have a LOT of movies.
16. I cherish each day with my family.
17. Death, or Life, can take you completely by surprise.
18. I was more attached to Mor Far than I thought I was. I still cry over him often.
19. I love living next door to Nate and Jessica.
20. I need new recipes.
21. Kids are the greatest things on this earth.
22. If one of my dogs got lost, died, or ran away I would be crushed.
23. I don't want a little dog right now. Maybe later, but now my two big ones are just fine for me!

Disneyworld!

I know, I know! It's been almost two whole weeks! I can't believe we've been home so long already (I'm just now getting to the laundry! How sad!) But, after getting caught up (somewhat) on school, family, life, and being sick I've finally made it to blogging! Yay!

I got to get a Happy Birthday Pin on my Disney Birthday! It was really weird though. Random people (mostly Disney staff) would wish me a happy birthday all over the place and I kept thinking "Weird! How did they know it was....oh yeah."

We took the bigger kids on Space Mountain while the little kids did little kid rides with the other adults. It was fun to spend time with just the big kids too.

TR and I took Ella and Branson to Disney's Hollywood Studios on the last day. They wanted to ride the Tower of Terror! Lucky for me, TR took them and I got to stay outside the ride.

This one is for Nate too. We spent all week trying to find this statue so we could take this specific picture. Come to find out, at the END of the LAST DAY we found it! Right at the front gates. We just always walked around it.

And that's that! It was so much fun and SO relaxing, but as all good things always do, it had to end. Even though I wish I was still there, I'm so glad to be home. I missed my dogs and my little blue house with my own bed (even though the beds at the hotel were AMAZING, I still missed my own bed). I missed the girls next door, my friends, and everything else I love about where I live. Thanks so much Dad and Amy for the much needed break! It was the best time we've had all year!

Sick sick sick!

Everyone in the Grimm household (even the dogs!) have been super sick. I guess that's what happens when you go on an awesome, warm vacation and get home and back to life. Cold, Utah life. That's why I haven't posted about Florida yet, but it is on my to do list. Right after getting better, cleaning my house, and finishing my school work. A girl's gotta have her priorities. I still love you all! I promise!

I Love Halloween

I really love to decorate my house. That being said- I am particularly proud of/excited for my Halloween decorations. Without further ado- I present : MY HOUSE!

Wordless Wednesday!

So between school, work, and...well...school and work, we haven't had much going on. Or rather, we've had SO much going on that I haven't had time to blog about any of it! Sad day!

We've been playing with friends a lot lately while getting ready to go to Disneyworld with the Tanners and Dad and Amy! Yay for Vacations!

I know this post is LONG overdue, and too short, but I have class in the morning and I'm already up WAY past my bed time. I swear I'll try and post more tomorrow. I still love you and think about you all the time!!
