Wow, What a day.

So, let us take a pause from all our adventures....

Oh wait, I haven't blogged any of our adventures yet. Oh darn. Well then, let us take a much needed break from the paused adventures! We sure had one tonight.

10:00 pm: TR calls and tells me that he's coming home.

around 10:50 pm: We prepare to get in the car to get last minute things for our impending trip to St. George tomorrow. While on the way to the car, TR proudly shows off how he got Scaredy the Scarecrow to stay in the ground, but just to make sure, he pushes down on Scaredy's head.

10:55 pm: The bamboo stick that provides Scaredy stability pokes through his head and into TR's hand. This bamboo stick has a pointy tip, and drives it's way about 3/4 of an inch into TR's palm.

11:05 pm: In a panic, as I'm rushing to the store to get gauze and tape, I notice that by some tender mercy Nate and Jessica's light is still on. I call Mom to ask if I should maybe try and call Nate and have him go look at TR's hand. Mom tells me I should, and I do so. Jessica answers the phone, tells me Nate had just gotten into bed, but, again, by a tender mercy, was not asleep yet. He comes over to check out TR's hand.

11:10 pm: I finally get back from the store, and Nate is on the phone with Amy telling her what happened. Amy then passes the phone to Dad, and Nathan repeats the tale with a professional tone which makes it seem more serious to me.

11:30 pm: We pile into Nate's car and head down to Dad's office. Dad was worried that it had cut a tendon and TR would need to have surgery, but after looking at it he determined that it barely missed both of the major tendons that it could have hit. The spike had slipped right past them.

11:45 pm-12:45 am: Cleaning, numbing, and stitching the hole in TR's hand. This part was actually really fascinating to me, and I got to provide emotional support for my fantastic husband.

around 1 am: we arrive back home, stitched, bandaged, and with an antibiotic prescription which I am going to go fill at the Walgreens down the street as soon as I'm done with this entry. Just wanted to type it out while it was still fresh in my mind.

I'm so tired.

But tomorrow is another day! Now TR can compare battle stories and scars and all that with the best of 'em. (Glen, I'm really looking forward to hearing the two of you tell your war stories. I'm sure we'll have many more to come).

I'm really looking forward to our Vacation tomorrow. And #1 priority when we get back: health insurance.

Tubular Tuesday!!

This...Is the Kraken.
24 inches across
Too big for TR and I to even eat half!
A specialty of Pirate Island Pizza in Orem.
Tasty Tasty!!
And doesn't TR's face just look funny in this picture? I didn't realize the pan was so hot. >.<

This is just one of the many adventures we've had. Once school gets settled (and paid for, but that's a different story all together) I'll be able to blog more about all our fun adventures.

Thanks to Sarah, Johnny, Branson, Daniell, and Savannah for helping us finish this baby off (there was still four pieces remaining when we left Sarah's house) and for letting us hang out for a little while this afternoon! We love you!!

Two Years? Really?!

I have some fabulous pictures of our fantastic anniversary trip, but...I have other post-vacation things to do before blogging about it. I just wanted to throw a quick note on here though.

TR and I have been married for two years. On one hand it seems totally bizarre that it's already been two years. On the other, it feels like it's been forever, and it's exciting to think about eternity.

One thing I know for sure though: I fall more and more in love with him every day.

He's my very best friend. I don't have a clue where I'd be without him, and I'm really really glad I don't ever have to find out. He is always there for me. He works hard and is very good at what he does. He makes our living a comfortable one. I'm pursuing my passion because of him. He helps me take joy in the little things in life. Most important, he doesn't ask me to be anything than what I am. He loves me, and that is the greatest thing in the world.

Happy anniversary sweetheart. I love you.

Family Pictures

Misty was nice enough (that doesn't seem a good enough descriptor. Cool enough? Awesome enough? Rockin' enough? I'm open to suggestions) to take our family pictures the week!! I got them back yesterday and WE LOVE THEM!! Here's a small sampling.

I'm suck a sucker for black and white.

I love LOVE the colors on this one.

But again, I'm such a sucker for Black and White.

We have a TON more, but these are the best of the best, and Misty put a lot of work and effort into making them look just fantastic. :)

The Waiting Game

Here I am, blogging from the hospital.

For those of you who don't know, and for those who do, but are still interested:

Anika has been in the hospital since Thursday because her blood pressure was high and they wanted to monitor the baby.

At 8 this morning she was only dilated to a 1, but still contracting.

They've started her, but haven't broken her water yet. She's gotten her epidural and is currently sleeping. Her BP is stable, and all looks well with Breanna.

So Breanna will most likely make her grand entrance early tomorrow morning! We're excited to see her! Please remember Anika in your prayers tonight. :) For those of you who have had babies, you know she'll need them. For those, like myself, who haven't, someday she'll be praying for you too.

I'll post pictures of the baby after she's born. I'm really excited to see this little person, but definately not as excited as Anika is.

Something's Fishy...

TR and I decided to clean out the pond today since we've had a fish killing epidemic lately. We got most of the water out before we could catch the fish, including our two Koi, Stevie and Darby.

You might have to enlarge this diagram, just for the fun of it.
Sorry for the picture quality. They wouldn't hold still. Darn fish.

We scooped out Stevie, Darby, and 6 tribes (originally 12, as in the 12 tribes of Israel, but we'll get to that in a minute.)

Upon closer inspection, I noticed that some of our tribes had white spots, one had black spots, and some were a lot smaller than the goldfish I remember buying. So TR and I sat down and did the math.

We originally bought 12 feeder goldfish, known as the 12 tribes, with only one that wasn't solid gold named Benjamin, or Benji for short who was a solid gray color.

Benji and one other tribe were lost within three days of purchase. We were down to ten tribes.

Two more tribes didn't make it past two more weeks. Now we only had 8 tribes left.

Then the fish epidemic struck, and we lost four more tribes this week. That leaves us with only 4 tribes left, assuming we got all the tribes and none were carried off by birds or cannibalistic fish.

This of course, does not include Darby and Stevie, since it would be very obvious if they were dead, and of course, they weren't.

But if you look at the diagram, we have 6 tribes, besides Darby and Stevie from our pond, and tribe 3 is very VERY small. We like to think of him as a Mini tribe.

There is no denying it, Darby and Stevie are proud parents of at least two of the fish currently in our pond!

Does that make us fishy grandparents?

Linus Wants To Go To Church

I think I need to get TR a baby doll and some dress up clothes.

He does look very debonair though, doesn't he?
My baby, all grown up and ready for church.

Happy Forth Of July!!

I've just started this new class for the block. It fills my political science requirement, and is actually really interesting. It's an American Heritage class. This last week we've been learning about the revolutionary war. It's really quite amazing what all those men and women did and suffered through so our country could have its independence from Britain. It really makes me grateful for the freedoms and liberties that we have and enjoy so fully. Our freedom was most definitely not free.

So to all those men and women who sacrificed their homes, food, clothing, and even their lives so we could be an independent nation, I salute you.

And to those men and women who still sacrifice their homes, food, clothing, families, and their lives so we can continue to be an independent nation, I salute you.

I hope that this Fourth of July we take just a minute to think about all that these normal, ordinary people have done so we can have all the things we enjoy, and maybe even have a moment of silence to thank them, pray for them, and commend them for their actions.

You can't spell American without I Can.

I hope everyone has a safe, happy, and wonderful holiday!
