I Needed A Change

This semester has been particularly stressful for me. Math is going to be my demise, I'm certain of it.

In order to counter this dragged down feeling I've been having, I decided to change my hair. I do this every so often just to switch things up every once in a while.

I headed over to Sarah's house to take Branson and Daniell to Classic Skating for Branson's school's field trip. It was after that that TR and Sarah talked me into changing my hair right then instead of waiting like I wanted to. The reason for this is that I was undergoing quite a drastic change. I was psyching myself out of it, and TR wanted me to do it.

Here's a few before pictures:

I decided to cut my hair. This is a "during" picture (sort of post during acutally):

And the final Product:

*Drumroll*

Tada!

Okay, so that's only a picture of how much I cut off. Here's what the finished product looked like.

I love it! It's so easy, so free, and it takes so little shampoo! AND Now Sarah can't bug me about not doing my hair cause it takes maybe 5 minutes tops to do. Admittedly I wasn't sure I wanted to cut it this short, and even after Sarah cut off my pony tail and handed it to me I was asking myself if I really wanted to do this. We cut off about 12 inches, and I donated it to Locks of Love down at Bon Losee Academy of Hair.

The girl at the desk thought it was odd that I wanted to take a picture of me handing over my hair, but after TR explained that I was a blogger she understood. (sorry about the poor picture quality. We only had TR's phone and he was chuckling)

And there's my big story for the month (since we all know lately I've only made it to one post a month), Next Edition: Who knows!!

Our New Friend

Sasha came to visit us over the Christmas break so that her owner could go see some family. We had a lot of fun while she was here playing out in the backyard and in the snow. She taught Linus some new tricks, and she and Mimi both learned who was boss around here: Me. We had some good times in the backyard throwing snowballs.

She was so cute bounding around in the snow. I think she really liked our big backyard. She also really liked jumping on our trees. She's a very athletic dog! This video is sideways and I don't know how to turn it, or even if I can, but you can see how high she can jump. She picked all the apples left off our tree! I was amazed!

It's fun to have other little furry friends come visit us! We like making new friends, both with other dogs and their owners!

My Puppies Sure Do Love Me

My dogs for some reason love to be around me more than any other person, including TR. They always lounge with me. I love that they want to be around me. Makes my heart all warm and fuzzy.

The other dog in this picture is the neighbor's dog, Sasha. She stayed at our house over the Christmas break so Makenzie could go to Arizona to see her family. She was very protective of me and could always be found right at my feet when she wasn't outside. Even after she's been back at her house for weeks Makenzie says she stills runs up to my door every time she gets let out. She even made it inside once when we weren't paying attention and went right to the backyard with the other dogs. I didn't even realize she was back there until Makenzie came and knocked on my door asking if I'd seen her. Pretty funny! I love my puppies!!

I Don't Know

I have no idea where my dogs got the idea that it's okay to lay on the couch, since we've taught them from the time they were little tiny puppies, and are still teaching them, that it is most definitely NOT okay. However, the last few days I've walked into the living room to try and find them after doing hours of homework, and realizing that I haven't seem them for a while and don't know what they're up to (sheesh- what kind of mom am I gonna be?), I've seen them both on the couch. Mimi jumps down almost immediately, but Linus gives me this look almost every time.

Then he rolls his head back onto his legs...Like it's no big deal. I know- I wasn't too impressed either, but he sure is cute.

Thank you!

Nate and Jessica had a ham the other day. After they carved it up and everything, Nate called and asked if one of my dogs would like a ham bone. SHA! Linus has been begging me to put these pictures up for weeks, and to say a great BIG THANK YOU to Nate and Jessica for the lovely bone that kept him busy for at least a little while so I could get some mopping done without him standing out in the cold.

Yummy!

Mimi got the bone from the pork roast we cooked up for new years.
She's grateful too for the opportunity to have a bone!

Thanks again Nate and Jessica!

Happy New Year!

I know it's like...really late, but hey- school has just been a much higher priority for me. Anyway- I thought I would finally post about new years eve at my house! TR and I hosted a party with some of our friends.

The food was delicious! Pork Tacos. MMM!

Fawn even liked some of the smaller foods
(Disclaimer: WE did not give this to her, she got up on my table while we were playing and trotted into the room with a big bacon wrapped water chestnut in her mouth.)

There was much Rockband being played.

Even Dalan got to play.

When all was said and done, Dalan fell asleep on my big big bed watching Kung Fu Panda.
And I found myself wishing I could fall asleep too.

We had such a good time! I'm glad everyone came and that they made my whole effort completely worthwhile and all sorts of fun! Way to kick off 2009!!

Fun Project

I saw a girl in my math class that had something sort of similar to this on her computer, and it made me want one, so here you go! It was super easy and really fun to make. :)

More Snow Fun!

TR and I were not the only ones enjoying the snow. Mimi had her fill too!

She loves to run in it.

It's in her breed. While Linus gets cold too fast and wants to come right back in, Mimi loves to be outside, especially in the snow. I think she forgets how much she likes the snow until it comes around next year. It's always such a novelty and she loves being out in it!

As soon as finals are over I fully intend to go out there with her and just let her run around while TR helps me build my first real snowman. Happy Snow-Playing! And for those of us not in the snow, happy Warm Weather Playing!

Snow, Snow, Snow!

"It won't be long before we'll all be there with Snow!"

One of my all time Favorite movies is White Christmas. For those of you who haven't seen this movie, I HIGHLY suggest it, especially around Christmas time. I woke up this morning, much earlier than I wanted to, because I had a final. I reached up onto our windowsill to retrieve my glasses, and got a glance out the window and this is what I saw!

Snow, snow, snow!

It was falling almost as fast as TR was shoveling. We got a goodly amount.

And to top it all off, we made some great wassail.

TR was so sweet to go clear off the car for me this morning before my test. He's so good to me. I'm so excited for it to be snowing, even though I don't like the cold or driving in it. It feels like Christmas now! It's been so weird to me the past few weeks sitting in my house with no sweater, no blanket, no slippers or even socks, and listening to Christmas music with all the Christmas lights on. TR and I finally went to see the lights in Spanish Fork last night cause I wouldn't go before it had snowed. There's just something about seeing a skier or ice skater in lights where you can still see the grass that doesn't quite work for me.

"What is Christmas with no snow?
No white Christmas with no snow.
Snow!"
