TR's Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone!! I know it's still a few hours until the big day, but I thought I would share with you our little christmas joy. Since we're moving up in the world, and getting a BIG, FENCED IN back yard in just a few days, we (or rather I) decided our little family needed some growing. We got Mimi (and TR and I) a new friend! His name is Linus after Linus on Charlie Brown. It just fit. He's a Bull Mastiff puppy, so he'll get pretty big, but we're so excited to have him! He's really well behaved, even as a puppy! And boy, does he like to sleep! Except at night of course, but he's getting better. He doesn't bark, and only chews on things a little bit. He's teething, so we're making sure he's got lots of chew friendly toys. We're so excited to have this little puppy in our home! We sure do love him lots!

He slept by himself for the first few days, cause we weren't quite sure how Mimi would react, but now they play just fine. I love it!

He sure loves his daddy.

At the end of the day he's absolutely exausted!

And so is Mimi!

How can you not just love those big droopy cheeks?

He's got a lot of extra skin.

"No more pictures please, I'm TRYING to SLEEP!"

We loves our puppies.
(Notice the boxes in the back? Yeah...that post will come soon enough)

We're excited to watch Mimi and Linus grow up together, and be friends. It's also nice for me to have some company when TR is at work. And he's just so darn cute! We're really excited to have Linus!

Advent!

Here's a flashback from my childhood. TR and I went to Macy's the other day and found Advent calenders! The kind with the little chocolates behind the doors that count the days until Christmas. I remember when I was a little girl Mom always got these for us, and Nathan and I tried (Always successful according to mom) to get the chocolates out of the doors without actually opening them. Of course, that meant no chocolate for that day. It's been fun to share this tradition from my past with TR. It's really just a nostalgia for me, but he's very excited about it too. I don't try and get the chocolates out of them anymore though. I'm a bit more patient than that now.

Mimi's Best Friend

Mimi has a best friend. Her name is Tabatha (or Taba for short), and she lives at TR's parent's house. It's so much fun when they play together, but sometimes Tabatha gets a little bark happy. Here's how the last trip to "Grandma's House" went in Mimi's words.

"Arf arf..woof woof"
(Translation: Tabatha and I had so much fun playing.)

"woof *whine whine, wimper wimper*"
(Translation: I was such a good little dog, and so was Taba, but sometimes she barks too much.)

"Bark bark, woof woof 'Arf arf arf bark woof bark?'"
(Translation: I asked her "What is that thing on your nose?")

"Bark Woof woof arf"
(Translation: Then I tried to help her get it off)

"*whine whine, wimper whine* Bark woof"
(Translation: I love my friend Tabatha)

"Bark bark woof woof bark"
(Translation: Sometimes she gets tired though. She's really old in doggy years.)

Aren't I lucky to speak dog? I'm so glad Mimi has a friend to play with, and especially for the SLEEP she gets afterwards. More sleep for Mimi = More sleep for mommy and daddy = happy mommy and daddy! And everyone knows, happy mommies and daddies give out more treats!

"Decorations Of Red On A Green Christmas Tree"

So our decorations weren't all red, but it was sure fun to put them up!

Our First Decorations! We had to improvise hanging things, cause we didn't buy any when we bought the balls, thinking they'd come with some. Silly us!

TR putting up "Our First Christmas" ornament.

Mimi says "I wanna help!" (Sure she did...she wanted to help eat those candy canes!)

TR made this when he was little. It's Christmas in a nutshell! (See...a baby Jesus made out of a peanut and nutshell...Christmas...in a nutshell...it's funny see...)

TR MADE this. It's made of a sheet of music, tape, and that little blue music folder was made out of a file folder! Took him like...20 minutes to figure it all out and make it. Isn't he amazing?!

I made this. It's Mimi's stocking. It was basically just a trial to figure out our stockings. (Isn't she amazing?! TR says.)

The finished product! AAAHHH!!! OOOOHHHH!! OOOOOOOOOOO!!

Mimi wanted to help me wrap presents. Silly Mimi!

I believe our first Christmas Tree experience was a successful one. I love to just sit and look at it sometimes. I'm working on TR and My stockings, and I will post pictures of them when I get them done, I promise. We're being very crafty this year. Mostly cause....we're poor! Hooray for Christmas! (That's not why we're poor, but hooray for it anyway.)

Blankets, Blankets, And More Blankets!

Okay- so for most of you who know me, I get cold easily right? Well our apartment, being a basement apartment, is colder than most, and our heat only works when A- Our neighbors upstairs are home, and B- They're cold. Needless to say, most of the time, our apartment is just plain cold. The other day I way laying in bed, shivering, and my sweet TR went and found EVERY SINGLE BLANKET in my house and put them on top of me! It weighed probably 10 pounds! It was nice and toasty though! I slept like that for a good 3 or 4 days straight.

See? I had to pull the mounds of blankets down so you can see my face.

That yellow thing is our plush mattress. The rest is all the blankets.

It's good to know that no matter what, I'll never be TOO cold. Wherever life takes us, I'm taking my blankets!

Our First Christmas Tree

We got our first christmas tree last Saturday. We got a real tree cause TR has never had one, and I love the way they smell.

I turned into one of those people I always laughed at.

Yes, we drove our christmas tree home on top of our car.

Tied it inside and everything.

Mimi LOVES the snow. It's her favorite.

Before we got it in the house we had to brush the tree off

TR said he felt like Hagrid from Harry Potter in this picture.

It was an adventure to get it through our front door (As you can tell by the exceptionally blurry picture).

TR made a wreath to hang on our door out of the branches we cut off the bottom. Lucky for me he got his Basketweaving merrit badge in scouts.

We welcomed autumn...

Then replaced it with Christmas.

Mimi tried to be all sneaky waiting for just the right moment to make a break for the door, and snow.

Of course, she got in trouble, but that didn't stop her from hoping.

It was an adventure getting our tree in our house, but it was one that I'll always remember. Something that makes our first christmas tree special. Next step: Decorations!

SNOWY SATURDAY!

Last saturday, December first, it was most appropirate that it was the first real snow of the season! What a way to get us into the Holiday spirit! Looks like it'll be a white Christmas after all!

TR and Mimi went out for their morning pottying, and TR decided to get all artsy and try out the black and white setting on his camera.

This is one of my personal favorites.

And his favorite.

He's gettin' pretty good with that Camera wouldn'tcha say?

TURKEY!!

Remember our turkey post? Well here's another one! The Smokehouse had some turkeys that weren't claimed on Thanksgiving, and so we got another one. This one was MUCH bigger than the last one.

It still looks perfect though.

This is the left-overs! We both ate our fill of turkey, and had this much left over.

The smaller bag is left-overs from our first turkey. The other bags are the left-overs from this turkey! At least we're set with protein for a while. And it makes some AMAZING turkey noodle soup. MMMMMM Good!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

TR's 22nd birthday was on Monday, and it was SO fun!! I had a big surprise party for him all planned out. Thanks for everyone who came! We had a great time! And he said he was kinda sorta surprised! Which is a big deal for me. It's really hard for me to keep a secret. Not only did I keep his party a secret, but I kept his PRESENTS a secret! YAY ME!! Here's a few pictures TR took with his new camera (that I got him) :D

Jessica with Baby "Safannah"

We were so excited that Dad and Amy could come. They found out about the party that morning! It was so good to see them on such short notice!

Of Course Nate was there!

Our house seemed to be invaded by little people. I loved it!

TR's Sister Whitney was VERY happy to be celebrating with us.
